I think that virtue language is important to our school because there needs to be rules or everything is going to turn out bad!!
Also the virtues help us understand how important it is to be kind to others and to be a GREAT PERSON!!! To be DIFFERENT and just to persevere through any rough times you had or you are having!

I had an opportunity to interview Darrien, a 5th grade student here at Halstead about his thoughts about virtues and virtues language. Here are his thoughts.

“I think virtues mean that we need to be in control of our feelings. Also to be kind to others.” “I think the virtues are going along very good.” “I give the virtues five stars because I think most people are using them correctly." “I do try and follow the virtues everyday. I show them by controlling myself and if someone is being mean to me I’ll be kind to them.”

" I think the virtues are working bad and good. Bad because some are being rude and mean to others, and good because some people follow them and are being kind and nice to others.” “Yes the virtues are working because I see people walking down the hall and if someone is being mean to them, they just ignore and walk away.” "I can use the virtues of kindness and peacefulness. I can calm down if I am mad by using a squeezing a ball and by taking 5 deep breaths.”
