the problem with Bullying
written by student journalist: Kah'nese
Have you ever been bullied or know anyone who has? If you were bullied, how did that make you feel?
Bullying is when someone is mean to other people on purpose. Bullying is also something that keeps happening over and over again, even when the person being bullied has asked them to stop.
There are different types of bullying, cyberbullying, verbal bullying, and physical bullying.
There are different types of bullying, cyberbullying, verbal bullying, and physical bullying.
Verbal bullying is when people gossip or spread rumors, tease, and call others hurtful names. The gossip or rumor can be true or it can be made up. Verbal bullying can also be when someone threatens another person or when they leave people out of activities on purpose to make them feel bad, like they don't have any friends. Physical bullying is hitting, pushing, and fighting others.
Should bullying be a thing? I don't think so, people shouldn't bully others. I know because I have been bullied before. When I was being bullied I felt sad because I didn't do anything for them to bully me.
In school some kids judge their classmates for their appearance and sometimes because of the clothes they wear. You shouldn't judge others because of how they look.

Do you know why bullying happens? I think maybe bullying happens because the bully probably has things going on at home. Then the bully takes it out on other people so they can feel how they do inside.
Since bullying is a big problem, are there things we should do to prevent it from happening?
I think we should talk to all the students about bullying and let them know why bullying is hurtful. We should let students know what can happen to those who are being bullied. |
We should also let students know what they can do if they are being bullied and how they can speak up for others if they see bullying happening.
